Although it's difficult to think of something entirely newly invented, I think a really handy new media product for artists would be a device or an application if you will, that can capture a pose made in real life and convert it to a 3D model for reference. This would be an app on the phone and you would take a picture of the "model" and pose in real life and it would convert it to a 3D model. You would then have the choice of customizing it, so perhaps you can include lighting on the 3D model for ease of reference for a light source. Of course, for the sake of convenience, this app will be able to convert the file to several formats — PNG, JPEG, PSD. Why PSD? I imagine you could take a picture of several "models" (keep in mind there can be more than one model) and you would be able to alter their position slightly via layers as you're working on the artwork. The app should also let you upload an existing picture and highlight where the desired model is, so you can always come back to old pictures taken to recreate new 3D models to upload. Of course, if you're by yourself, you can always take a picture of yourself doing the pose, as there would be a "countdown" feature on the app, where it will countdown from 5 or 10 seconds until it automatically takes a picture.

    Hi Nicole,
    I feel like this is an interesting thought because of the fact that this would be very helpful for a lot of people that are into clothing designs. They would be able to make poses and upload them to edit, giving them the ability to have a better prototype of what the real design will be like.

Blog Social Networking Sites

The four social networking sites I will be observing today are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr. Facebook’s main colors consist of an unsaturated navy blue, light greys, and off-whites. When you launch the website, the first thing you’ll be directed to is the Home page. On the left-hand side are easy shortcuts for the user to click on to immediately go to the part of Facebook they’ve most often used or most likely interested in. The first is always “News Feed,” as that’s where you’ll receive new and updated content from your peers or Liked pages you follow. Underneath that, (or at least for my Facebook page), are a bunch of Messenger games I play with my friends. Underneath is the Explore tab, where Facebook will take me to a random page of whichever category I click. Blog v Wiki

Blogs and wikis are similar in that they both communicate information by either a single individual, a consultative group, or a series of individuals. Even though blogs are mostly advertised as the kind published by a single person, there are many instances in real life where a group of people post in one blog and often sign the specific individual's name on the said post. Nevertheless, the differences are apparent: a blog is more controlled but restricted in terms of the public's influence and a wiki is more lenient but susceptible to an internet predator's touch or an irresponsible editor.
